Y'all know that i love me some lipsticks! MUA (Makeup academy) lipsticks have good quality and so cheap that i feel no guilt when i buy them, so i always find myself purchasing more and more.I was doing some online shopping on Superdrug when i came across a great deal, where you'd buy 8£ in MUA products and they would give you a free eyeshadow palette because MUA is now 5 years old. Anyway, i bought three lipsticks for me and other for my cousin so i could have the free palette. Dont judge, who doesn't love some freebies?
From left to right: Lilac Belle, Nectar 16 and Wild berry. I love them three, but honestly my favourite is Wild berry, i don't know why but wasn't used to wear wine/cherry colours but now i can't really think of any other colours. I'm making quite an effort to wear, pinky nudes, orange, lilacs, coral and other pastel, though i have not been successful so far.
The packaging is pretty simple yet stylish, it comes either in black or white plastic depending of what collection it belongs too. A funny thing about the packaging is that you can actually see the shade you are picking, so you don't have to take the lids off when picking a lipstick. Its quite handy when you are rushing, also that little transparent piece i was talking about unscrews and there is a little sample of the lipstick shade inside, that means that you can use a brush to apply your lipstick without ruining the actual lipstick.
you'd think they would be crapy lipsticks, but they're actually not.. Yes you have to wear at least 2-3 coats in order to get the correct shade, but there are other drugstore lipsticks that you need to do the same and they are more expensive.
They are quite creamy so they don't dry out my lips as other matte lipsticks do, the down side is that they dont last too long, maybe about 2-3 hours top. Anyway, it doesn't take ages to re-apply some lipstick!
The palette is limited edition as it comes for celebration of the 5th birthday of the brand, and has i said before it was totally free with purchase of 8£ in throughout the brands products. It comprises 12 shades in both shimmer and matte finishes, i haven't tried them on my eyelids as yet but i'll make sure to let you know on my facebook the results. Though from the swatches i've done, they seem pretty good pigmentation wise, the only shade that hasn't convinced me yet is the black has it the pigmentation is not that great. It will be out in the shelves at local drugstores for an fantastic price of 4£, its bargain and worth it! Make sure you grab yours, as it wont be around for a log tim.
